After administering the Woodcock-Johnson to this young man, he thanked me for testing him as he was leaving. I decided to start videoing (there was no prompting, coercion lol, or script, just conversation). I wish I would have gotten the whole conversation. He just made me smile on this dreary day. Hope it encourages you that even if your child had a bad experience with testing, we will do our best to make homeschool testing a positive experience. Some families like to have the students listen in as I interpret the score report results. This is up to your preference.

Your whole family can come together on testing day. While 95 percent of the test is administered one-on-one, there are 3 sections I give at the same time. In other words, a 7 year old and 17 year old sibling can take the reading fluency, math fluency and writing fluency at the same time.

I welcome all future happy testers to come on testing day.

While waiting for a sibling to test families can enjoy activities I have available or you can bring your own books or games or just enjoy a snack.
